Latest Extra Travel Log Newsletter

DECEMBER 2017 NEWSLETTER EXTRA EDITION

Festive Greetings!

LEWES RACECOURSE PLANNING APPLICATION

You only have 14 days, until December 28th, to comment on this application, which involves much more fencing and gates obstructing the bridleway at Lewes old racecourse. Full details at http://travelloglewes.co.uk/index.php….

If you find the details difficult to understand you can just comment on the large number of gates which are proposed to put across the bridleway and the general urbanisation of what was was once an open area.

Send your comments to planning@southdowns.gov.uk

If you have not yet commented, please do it today and encourage your friends to do likewise

FESTIVE BUSES

Apologies to Compass Bus, who are running a normal school holiday service on 27-29 December, despite what I said in the last newsletter.  Full details here

For Brighton buses see here

THAMESLINK TAKES OVER

Thameslink and Southern are both brand names for Govia Thameslink Railway.  But they still have different fare structures.

Govia are moving some services in the south from Southern to Thameslink.  Already the service from Littlehampton to London via Horsham has moved.  This means that tickets marked Southern Only, such as the daysave, are not valid on this route.

If you are going to Crawley, Horsham or Arundel you may find that your fares have changed radically.

Apparently it will now only be possible to get to London from Redhill via Thameslink and season tickets are set to go up radically.

There are no plans to change the trains through Lewes.
